What a YN Does

YNs handle personnel and human resources work for Coast Guard members, including pay, travel, records, and assignments. When someone gets promoted, moves, or adds a family member, a YN makes sure the paperwork and benefits are handled correctly. YNs work at a wide range of units and are the go to problem solvers for their shipmates.

Scores That Count for YN

• VE + AR: Verbal Expression (Word Knowledge + Paragraph Comprehension), Arithmetic Reasoning. Study: Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Arithmetic Reasoning

Coast Guard line scores are simple sums of standard scores, and each standard score averages 50. A two-section sum of 100 is about average.
