What a PS Does
PSs are Coast Guard Reserve members who protect ports, harbors, and military sealift operations at home and overseas. They are trained in security patrols, small boat operations, weapons, and force protection, and many serve with deployable Port Security Units. This rating is only open to the Reserve, so members train part time and deploy when called.
