MST Marine Science Technician

What a MST Does

MSTs protect ports, people, and the environment. They inspect ships and waterfront facilities, check containers and hazardous cargo, and respond to oil spills and other pollution incidents. The work supports the safety and security of the ports that keep trade moving, and most MSTs work at sectors and specialized shore units.

Coast Guard line scores are simple sums of standard scores, and each standard score averages 50. A two-section sum of 100 is about average.
